On the way to Mauritius

12.5.13 – Sunday – Going out of Peros Banhos atoll we decided to stop at Cargados Carajos shoals (St. Brendan) on the way to Mauritius instead of Rodrigues island. There are a few islands and islets as well as reefs over there and the only human presence is that of visiting fishermen. That turned out to be a wise decision; the wind was too southerly to enable going via Rodrigues comfortably. So now, after four days, we are less than 400 miles from our target, having done some fast sailing in the last two days, 164 and 169 miles. Now our challenge is to reach destination well before sunset on Tuesday. Will the wind and sea cooperate? We’ll let you know when we get to Mauritius later in the week.
